“Pokemon Rumble Blast”, known as “Super Pokémon Rumble” in Europe, is a Pokémon game for the Nintendo 3DS. It was released in 2011 and is the sequel to the WiiWare game “Pokémon Rumble”. Here’s a general overview of the game:

  • Toy Pokémon: Unlike the main series Pokémon games, in “Rumble Blast”, players control wind-up toy Pokémon. These toy Pokémon have their own set of moves, and instead of leveling up, players find or obtain stronger toy Pokémon as they progress through the game.
  • Real-time Battles: Battles in this game are real-time, with players controlling their toy Pokémon directly, moving them around arenas and attacking with their moves.
  • Battle Royale: Periodically, players will compete in Battle Royales, where many toy Pokémon fight simultaneously in a free-for-all battle. The last Pokémon standing is the winner.
  • Charge Battles: These are large-scale battles against big groups of toy Pokémon.
  • Zones: The game is divided into different zones. Each zone has various levels, and each level ends with a boss Pokémon. After defeating this boss, there’s a chance to befriend it.
  • StreetPass: Using the 3DS’s StreetPass functionality, players can battle other players’ toy Pokémon teams and earn rewards.

The game follows the story of a toy Pokémon out to discover why some of the toy Pokémon are being rusted. Along the way, players will battle and befriend other toy Pokémon, uncover the mystery behind the rusting phenomenon, and confront legendary and mythical Pokémon.

Pokemon Rumble Blast” received mixed reviews. Some players enjoyed the simple, action-packed gameplay, while others felt it was a bit repetitive. The game was appreciated for its graphics, especially when considering it was one of the earlier titles for the 3DS.

If you’re interested in a Pokémon game that diverges from the mainline series and offers a unique take on Pokémon battles, “Pokemon Rumble Blast” might be worth checking out. However, if you’re looking for a game with the depth and complexity of the mainline Pokémon RPGs, this might not be the right fit.
